Seminar Series - Biological Foundations of Language (2014)

2013年語言與人類複雜系統聯合研究中心與香港中文大學、北京大學聯合策畫非學分專題演講課程,在2014年上半年度於香港中文大學, 舉行專題演講課程。以語言之生物基礎為題,探討目前各項研究之進程。 人之所以能夠異於其他生物,成為特殊的物種並發展出豐富多樣的文化,產生和理解語言的能力是極為重要的關鍵因素。語言讓人類可以用精準的方式溝通抽象的概念,同時也使得人類得以彼此分工、共同合作,並且跨越時空限制,傳承經驗。透過語言的使用,人類的溝通可以有各種不同的發想;當不同文化背景的人類透過語言交流、模仿與學習,不僅可以達成交流的目的,同時還創造出更多元精彩的世界。正因為人類透過語言可以重現各種事件,而人類透過語言所表現的資訊編碼能力更遠複雜於其他生物,因此語言此一認知功能也大大影響了記憶、數量理解、問題解決等其他認知範疇中的複雜行為。有鑑於此,探究語言、大腦與文化間的複雜演化和交互影響的運作過程,將是我們了解人類心智及各種複雜行為的基礎。

2016 The Neural Biological Foundation of Language
2016研究中心團隊受香港城市大學之邀,於春季(2/29-4/29)開設語言與大腦認知神經科學研究之系列講座課程,課程內容主題涵蓋語言、記憶與情緒等大腦科學研究議題之基礎介紹,以及眼動儀、fMRI等實驗工具運用於大腦科學研究的方法及研究方向。此課程除了香港城市大學的學生外,也對香港其他大專院校學生開放,對於在香港推廣大腦科學研究,希望能作為培育大腦科學研究專業人才之基石,強化研究團隊與香港研究大學之合作及人才培育。
